What are 8 qualities of a good leader?
Does what he/she believes is right.
Listens, hard working, kind, fair, caring, is not selfish, good speaker, respects others, trustworthy, honest, forgives people, keeps promises, works well in a team, thinks carefully before doing something
What should a good leader do?
(these are the most important qualities of a good leader)
LISTEN to people and not do all the talking
He/she should RESPECT others others
STAND UP for what is right
What was apartheid?
Was a way of keeping black, coloured and indian people APART or SEPARATE from white people.
During apartheid, the old South African government treated white people better than everyone else, so white people had the best houses, jobs and education.
What is a protest?
an action to show disagreement or unhappiness about something
e.g. protest marches through the streets, violent protests such as bombing, etc
What is a charter?
a written paper that says what everyone should be allowed to do
What is a political prisoner?
People who are sent to jail because they stand up for what they believe in
Who was Nelson Mandela?
A leader who fought against apartheid in South Africa and eventually became the first black president and first democratically elected president of South Africa in 1994.
Why did Nelson Mandela go to jail?
Because he stood up for what he believed was right, which was that EVERYONE should have the same RIGHTS
