Name and explain two ways Irish monks spread Christianity abroad

A

St Columbanus left a monastery in Bango,Co. Down and went to Europe with a dozen companions, where he founded several monasteries, including Luxeuil in France and Bobbio in Italy.

Another example is St Colmcille, He founded monasteries in Durrow and Derry in Ireland, and on lona, an island off the Scottish coast. Iona is most likely where the Book of Kells was created.

Decribe the Aragh Chalice

A

The bowl and front chalice were made of spoon silver the other side is decorated with gold silver glass Amber and enamel ornaments the bottom of the foot is also decorated with elaborate glass and panels. It has beautiful gold wiring.
