Britain had a conflict with Spain. This is for an economic reason. English sailers had been stealing gold and silver from the Spanish ships. King Philip II also didn’t like the middle way.

This is because he wanted to divorce his wife to marry Anne; he would have a greater chance of having a boy who could continue his name.

What evidence can you find in her portraits?
In one of her portraits, her clothes are covered in eyes and ears, this can mean she can see and hear everything and she is in great control of her country. In this painting she also has English flowers on her top which means she is proud to be English.
Describe the Spanish Armada and its outcome.
The armada failed for the Spanish and the English won. This is because of a mixture of the Spanish’s mistakes, the English’s techniques and the awful weather. The weather destroyed Spanish ships( therefore some Spanish didn’t make it home) and King Philip II of Spain chose an admiral who had no experience and who was seasick to lead the armada. No English soldier died.

She used what recourses they had and continued even though they had less and smaller ships.

How successfully did Elizabeth solve the problem of religion and the poor?
For religion she made the middle way. For the poor she made private charities, poor laws and had special care and supervision for them.
