What is a choropleth map?
A choropleth map is a map which uses colours and keys which tell you certain things. For example, how high the crime rate is in individual cities in a particular country.
Why might it be a good idea to show crime data by area?
Because some places have higher crime rates than others.
Why did the London riots spread so quickly?
Because more young people are hearing about it and joining them. They can also get information about certain areas if people from different places join them.
Why are sketch maps and field sketches useful for geographers?
Because they are: accurate, simple, you can write on them, you can compare photos or maps of the past, you can select which are the most important parts and they help organise.
