Majority rule
idea that greatest # of ppl in society can make policies for everyone

discusses:

Freedom of speech
gives right to speak minds about anything w/o using violence, vulgar language, or endangering public safety, slander, lies that can harm another person

Keep citizens aware of gov. actions

Freedom of assembly
Right that citizens can hold meetings and form and join associations as long as peaceful

Right to contact gov. rep. and ask to work for passage of laws; request to change laws we don’t like
Amendment 2
- states have right to militia (guaranteed)
- Right of citizens to bear arms/ keep weapons for self defense
Amendment 3
- prevent soldiers from quarters in private homes w/o the owner’s permission
- allows quartering in times of war
Amendment 4
- protects ppl from “unreasonable searches and seizures”
- Gov. can’t improperly take property, paper, or ppl, w/o valid search warrant based on probable cause
- warrant must identify place (s) searched
