What is a Frame of Reference?
A Frame of Reference includes those factors that influence a person viewpoint.
Ex: religion,race,gender,economic staus,media,time period lived, family & friends. A slave would have a diff.viewpoint than a slave owner.
What is a hypothesis?
A tentative explanation for a set of facts.
What is a scaffolding question?
A scaffolding question is one that ask for a specific piece of info. FROM a document.
What are some factors that can change a persons viewpoint (Frame of Reference)
Race, Religion, Age, Economical Status, Gender,Time Period Lived, Friends, Family

What is a fact?
A fact is something that can be proven true.
Ex: The Civil War started in 1861.
What is a Primary Source?
An item created during the time period.
Ex: newspaper article,journal entry, photo.

What is a document based question?
A document based question(DBQ) is a question that is about one or more of those written or printed source materials.
What is a historian?
Historians study with primary and secondary sources to formulate & test hypotheses about historical events and time periods. Historians answer questions about the past using a 7 step historical method of inquiry.

History is not just a simple list of facts from the past. It is the way people look at or interpret the meaning of those facts.
