What is History?
History is the study of the past
What is prehistory?
The time before written records were invented
What’s a source?
An evidence that helps historians to build up a picture of the past
Name two types of Sources
Primary and Secondary source
What is the difference between the primary source and the secondary source?
Primary sources come directly from the past
E.g Interviews Diaries Letters and emails Speeches Government records Autobiography Photographs,posters,paintings Newspapers and magazines Artefacts
Secondary source comes from a LATER DATE and are based from primary sources.
E.G Biography Movies Tv radio or documentary History books
What’s the time and place rule?
It is when historians look at how close the author of the source was to the event being described.
What’s cross checking?
Historians will look at how many sources as possible and then compare what they found to make sure that the story of the past is as accurate as possible.

AD - ANNO DOMINI
BC - Before Christ
