Impact of Colour TV

A

> introduced in 1953
monochrome transmission standards were developed prior to WW2, but civillian electronics development was frozen during much of the war
although the NTSC colour standard was proclaimed in 1953, and limited programming soon television in North America outsold black and white units. High prices and the scarcity of colour programming greatly slowed its acceptance in the market place

Impact of World War 2?

USA is generally considered to had entered the conflict with the 7th December 1941 surprise attack on Pearl Harbour by the Empire of Japan and exited it with the 2nd September of Japan
US detonated two atomic bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. The bombings killed between 150000 and 246000 people most whom were civilians and remain the only use of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict
flushed with their success against Germany and Japan in 1945, most Americans initially viewed they place in the postwar world with optimism and confidence. But within 2 years of the war ending, new challenged are perceived threats had arisen to erode that confidence
