- Endocrine-Islets of lanterns- paler in colour

- Arranged into sheet which all converge towards the centre (where central vein is found)
- Sheets are hexagonal
- At borders of sheets: hepatic artery, hepatic vein and hepatic duct

- Trabeculae radiate inside the spleen
- The parenchyma is called pulp
