histology lab test 1 Flashcards
Erythrocytes
7.2 micrometers in diameter. Biconcave disc. found in the blood
Lymphocytes
a little bigger than erythrocytes. Small amount of cytoplasm. Specific killers
Neutrophils
5 lobed nucleus ( more prominent as it matures). found in bone marrow and blood. 1st responders
Eosinophils
bi-lobed nucleus.specific attackers and release histaminase to lower inflammation
Basophils
Large and grainy. Form in bone marrow and are low in numbers in blood. release histamine to recruit others.
Monoctye
very large and have a perinuclear halo. Nucleus looks indented. In blood and tissue. Kill everything and act as presenting cells
simple cuboidal
found in kidney tubules, salivary glands. excrete and secrete and absorb
simple columnar
polar, absorb very well ( intestine)
simple squamos
body cavities to help locomotion of fluid into and out of cell
stratified squamous
very strong. Skin
stratified cuboidal
linings of larger excretory ducts of exocrine glands. provides more robust lining than simple cuboidal
pseudostratified
respiratory epithelium
cardiac tissue
striated, intercalated discs, y shape, single nucleus
skeletal muscle
multinucleated, striated, unbranched
smooth muscle tissue
wavy, not striated, single nucleated
