Trameculae - connective tissue extends inwards to outline irregular lobes and lobules
Thyroid acinus - thyroid epithelium and basement membrane - lumen filled with colloid surrounded by fine capillaries and associated with fibrous septa
Thyroid follicle - storage for iodine and thyroxine suspended in colloid
Follicular epithelium - Cells arranged in spheres - cuboidal/ columnar cells
C-cells - located in spaces between thyroid follicles - secretes calcitonin
