Epithelium

A

Stratified squamous-protects from wear n’ tear
(esophagus, skin, anus)

Simple cuboidal- secrete and absorb
(kidneys, salivary glands, ducts)

Pseudostratified columnar-secretes mucus, cilia move mucus along
(airways of respiratory system)

Q

Connective Tissue

A

*Areolar CT- attaches skin to muscle (Hypodermis)

  • Reticular CT-gives structural integrity to (thymus, spleen, lymphnodes)
  • Dense regular CT-parallel collagen fibers (ligaments, tendons)
  • Dense irregular CT- mesh of collagen fibers (dermis)
  • Hyaline cartilage-smooth collagen fibers (trachea, ribs, etc.)
  • Elastic cartilage- grainy collagen & elastic fibers (epiglottis, ear)
  • Bone-RBC formation, calcium, support (osteon is circular unit of bone)
  • Blood- Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils
