Origin: ASIS
Insertion: medial surface of superior shaft of tibia - pes anserinus
Innervation: femoral nerve (L2 and L3)
Main action: flexes the thigh and flexes the leg
Rectus femoris
Origin: AIIS and grove superior to acetabulum
Insertion: quadriceps tendon - patella - tibial tuberosity
Innervation: femoral nerve (L2-L4)
Main action: extends the leg and flexes thigh
Vastus lateralis
Origin: greater trochanter
Insertion: quadriceps tendon and lateral border of patella
Innervation: femoral nerve (L2-L4)

Vastus medialis
Origin: intertrochanteric line and linea appear
Insertion: quad tendon and medial border of patella

Origin: body of pubis close to the symphysis

Innervation: obturator nerve (L3 and L4)
Main action: abducts thigh and rotates thigh medially

Origin: inferior pubic ramus close to the symphysis
Insertion: upper part of the linea aspera of femur
Innervation: obturator nerve (L3 and L4)
Main action: adducts thigh
Adductor magnus
Origin: inferior ramus of pubis, inferior ramus of ischium and ischial tuberosity
Insertion: linea aspera of femur and supracondylar line
Innervation: obturator nerve (L3 and L4) and branches from the sciatic

Origin: inferior ramus of pubis
