- Patient side lying
- Passively abduct and extend the hip
- Ask patient to lower past edge of the bed to max range
Ober’s test: purpose
Evaluates a tight, contracted or inflamed tensor fascia latae (TFL) and iliotibial band (ITB)

FABER test: procedure
- Supine lie
- Passively place the hip in flex, abd, er over other leg
- Stabilise the iliac crest on the contralateral side
- Passive over press on knee if no pain

To reproduce pain in the hip, lumbar spine or SI region
