Hip extensor muscles
Glute max, hamstrings (biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus)
Hip abductor muscles
Sartorius, Glute Max, IT band
External rotation muscles
Sartorius, Glute max, Glute medius
ROM for hip: flexion, extension, ABduction, ADduction, IR, ER
Flexion: 90 w/ knee ext, 120-135 knee flexed Extension: 15-30 ABduction: 45-50 ADduction: 20-30 IR: 30-40 ER: 40-60
Nerve for flexion at hip?
Femoral N (L2-L4)
Nerve for extension at hip?
Inferior gluteal N. (L5, S1-S2)
Nerve for abduction?
Superior gluteal N (L5, S1)
Nerve for adduction?
Obturator N (L2-L4)
What’s found in central compartment?
Labrum, Ligamentum teres, Articular surfaces
What’s found in peripheral compartment?
Femoral neck, Synovial lining
What’s found in lateral compartment?
Glute medius/minimus, Piriformis, IT band, Trochanteric bursae
What’s found in antrior compartment?
Iliopsoas insertion, Iliopsoas bursae
Log roll can be used for what compartments?
Central and Peripheral
Tests for central compartment?
Log roll, C-sign, Labral loading, Labral distraction, SCOUR, and Apprehension: FABER (doc force posterior)
