Non specific structures- Pain may be elicited from intra-articular and extra-articular structures of the hip, sacroiliac joint or lumbar spine
FABER TEST- Pain
Intra-articular pathology (Sharp-pinching/tight/stretching)
FADIR TEST- Pain
Gluteal tendinopathy
De-rotation test- Adduction at the start of the test –> pain
Gluteal tendinopathy (high specificity and sensitivity)
Single leg stance
Adductor related groin pain
Adductor squeeze test
Pubic related groin pain

Assessment of retroversion-anteversion
General hip active ROM assessment
Assess internal and external rotation both at 0 deg and 90 deg flexion (hip)
- differentiate muscle/capsule
General hip passive ROM assessment
Add over pressure to active movement if AROM is painfree
All hip pathologies
Palpation- pain?
Tightness TFL and Illiotibial band
Ober’s test
Tightness of the hip flexors
Thomas test
