Both are innovated by the obturator nerve.

MI, UTI, Blood loss, hypovolaemia, DVT , PE
Implications of a THR on younger patients
Put more strain on the replacement and will require a revision.
List some risk factors for secondary avascular necrosis
alcohol abuse
steriods
hyperlipidaemia
thrombophilia
Early signs of avascular necrosis on X-ray
Patchy sclerosis on weight bearing areas.
Lytic zone underneath sclerotic area formed of granulation tissue.
What is the risk of AVN?
The femoral head can collapse which requires a total hip replacement.
How can collapse of the femoral head be preventedor delayed?
Holes can be drilled into abnormal area to relive pressure and promote healing.
Gluteal cuff syndrome
Tendonitis and degeneration over the greater trochanter where most abductor muscles insert can result in tendon tears.
