A

Because it could be referred pain from the hip, could be perthes disease or transient synovitis of the hip

What is the presentation of transient syndovitis of the hip?

A

This is a diagnosis of exclusion and presents in 4-10 year olds and is pain at extremes of movement preceded by a viral illness

What is perthes disease?

A

This is avascular necrosis of the femoral head that occurs in 3-11 year olds. No known reason and the healing process distorts the bone and causes pain or a limp
Surgery may be indicated in poor disease
