Opposite of silence. Noise in the background

A destructive change to an audio signal that happens when the level is too high for the system it’s passing through.

A
Reduces the dynamics of an audio file cutting top and bottom ranges reducing the file size.

A
A higher impendance means more voltage is required to produce the sound through for example a set of headphones.

Basic control of generic sounds. (Pitch, duration, loudness etc.)

A
a sound made up from a combination of OSCILLATORS and/or samples combined with FILTERS, ENVELOPES and EFFECTS that is pre-programmed into a synthesizer.
