Cut off frequency
Determines at what level the signal is cut off.
Flanger
A mix of two identical audios with one playing slower than the other.
Graphical EQ
A user interface which allows the user to improve sound quality by adjusting the individual frequency bands.
Harmoniser
A type of pitch shifter which creates another note to harmonise with the original.
Low/High pass filter
A curved EQ which allows you to reduce the low or high sounds in an audio.
Modulation controller
A user interface used to add parameters to pieces of audio.
Parametric EQ
Offers the user full control over every parameter.
Phaser
Creates cuts in the high end of a signal with the placement of those cuts being modulated up and down to different places on the audio spectrum.
Pitch Shift
A process in which all the audio is changed to a different pitch.
Portamento
A sliding pitch from one note to another.
Pre/Post Fade
routes a copy of your track before the channel fader, whereas a post fader send will do this after your channel fader.
Shelving EQ
A shelving EQ boosts or cuts all frequencies above or below a selected cut-off point.
Time Compression/Expansion
Decreasing/Increasing the length of an audio file without changing the integrity of the sound.
Bandwidth/Q
The difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a continuous band of frequencies.
Tremolo
A modulation effect that creates a change in volume.
