ADSR
An envelope four stages of modulation (Attack, Decay, Sustain and release)
Autotune
A device that measures and alters pitch to the reuired level during live music.
Crossfade
Creates a smooth transition from one sound to another.
De-esser
A compressor that acts on the frequency the same as sibilance created by a human voice ( s f x).
Filter
A circuit designed to amplify certain frequencies.
Insert Point
Where a signal processor is attched to an audio line( between a microphone and a speaker)
Plug in
A piece of code that can act upon a piece of audio.
Sample editor
An interface where a user can edit cut and add pieces off audio with no permanent changes.
Sample Frequency
Determines the range of frequencies captured in digital audio.
Submix
An audio channel used to combine elements that should be together.
Threshold
The level at which compression will apply.
Vocoder
Creates a robot like human voice.
