What are some maternal factors that would make a pregnancy high risk?
- advanced maternal age >35
- drug use; smoking, drinking, illicit substance use
- maternal health conditions: diabetes, HTN, thyroid disease, epilepsy, poorly controlled asthma , certain mental health conditions, BMI >30
- previous pregnancy complications; premature birth, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes
What are some situations that occur during pregnancy that would make a birth high risk?
- multiple pregnancy
- abnormal placental position
- foetal growth restriction <10%
- Rh sensitisation
Deaths reportable to coroner’s?
- person unknown
- un-natural circumstances; violent, homicide, suicide, drug and alcohol related deaths
- accidents and work place related deaths
- cause of death unknown
- unexpected deaths in health care facility, after a procedure

7.5mg or more /day for more than 3 months
