sustainable development goals
A set of 17 goals set by the united nations for the health and wellbeing of all people and the protection of the planet, intended to be achieved by 2030
objectives of sdg
- TO end extreme poverty because hundreds of millions of people still live in extreme poverty
- TO fight inequality and injustices because millions of people around the world face persecution
- TO address climate change because climate change has emerged as one of the most significant issues of our time
SDG rationale
- Because new goals were needed when MDGs ended in 2015
- Because there was uneven progress across regions and countries
- Because new global challenged had emerged e.g. climate change
