Pathology of Heterophyes heterophyes
-fluke penetrate deeply into the mucosa & may cause slight desquamation
-In human cases diarrhea may develop which is usually intermittent & sometimes hemorrhagic
-Diagnosis is based on the demonstration of eggs in feces

Praziquantel administered orally is the drug of choice for tx of infection in man
