HZO is the reactivation of the varicella zoster virus in the area supplied by the ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve

- Vesicular rash around the eye
- Rash on tip of nose (hutchinson sign) - indicator for ocular involvement

Management
A
- Oral antiviral treatment 7-10 days
- Oral corticosteroids (reduce duration off pain)
- Ocular involvement = specialist review

Complications
A
Ocular: conjunctivtis, keratitis, episcleritis, anterior uveitis
