Inflammation of conjunctiva
-Mucous membrane that covers fornt of eye and lines eyelids
- Associated corneal involvement (kerato-conjunctivitis)
- Eyelid involvement (bepharoconjunctivitis)

BACTERIAL (S. pneumoniae*, s. areus, gonorrhoeae, chlamydia)
-Purulent, eyes stuck together
VIRAL (H. influenzae*)
- Serous discharge
- Recent URTI
- Preauricular lymph nodes

- Hx atopy

A
Conservative
- No contacts
- No towel sharing
Medical
- Topical antibiotics e.g. chloramphenicol
- Fusidic acid (pregnant women)

-Topical mast cell stabilisers (e.g. sodium cromoglicate, nedocromil)
