What is the mechanism of Heparin induced thrombocytopenia with thrombosis syndrome?

A
  • autoantibodies against heparin/platelet factor 4 complexes→ Coumadin induced skin-necrosis→ consumption of platelets, and aggregates of platelets bound by antibodies causing the clotting
