Renewal of the treaty of Etaples (1510)
A
- continuation of the peace
- split attitudes/ efforts as Henry VIII wasn’t keen on the treaty whilst his councillers wanted to continue the peace - Henry VIII eventually signed the Treaty
- was an anti french alliance - Henry VIII joined the holy leage with the HRE, the papacy and venice

the second invasion of France (1513) - the battle of the Spurs

- Henry VIII personally lead a 30k force of men into france which crossed into Calais in June (1513)
- was successful in the short term as managed to capture Tornaui and Therouanne which were property of england until (1518)
- Helped to further paint Henry VIII’s image as a warrior king

The first invasion of France (1512)
A
- money + 12,000 troops were granted by parliament in (April 1512)
- command of Marquis of Dorset
- only used as a diversion to allow Ferdinand (Spain) to capture Navarae
- many english troops died whilst waiting for spanish troops to help them due to illness and disease
- lasted 2x months

The Anglo French treaty (1514)

- max and ferdinand had been colluding behind Henry VIII’s back for a long time for a peace treaty
- Pope leo X also favoured peace in europe over war

The Battle of Flodden (1513)
A
- when henry was away campaigning in france king james IV of scotland sent a small scottish army over the border to england
- The earl of surrey crushed the scottish forces
- meant that many of the french nobility and James IV himself were now dead on the battle field
- therefore james IV’s cousin Margaret ruled on the throne as a regent which was good for England and Henry VIII as this meant that there was a much more limited threat of invasion - England was more secure from Scottish Threat
