Hemostatic Agents Flashcards
Hemostatic Agents Drug Names
Systemic
Aminocaproic acid
Topical
Absorbable gelatin
Thrombin
Hemostatic Agents Therapeutic Actions
- Systemic: prevent systemic clot breakdown to prevent blood loss
- Topical: for surface injuries involve so much damage to the small vessels in the area that clotting does not occur and blood is slowly and continually lost
Hemostatic Agents Indications
- Prevent blood loss from injury or surgery and to treat bleeding disorder
