Hematopoiesis Flashcards
Multipotent CSF
Stem cell factor (SCF) binds c-Kit –> all myeloid & lymphoid CFUs
Unipotent CSFs
Erythropoietin –> CFU-E (erythropoiesis)
Thrombopoietin –> CFU-Meg (thrombopoiesis)
G-CSF –> CFU-G (neutrophils)
M-CSF –> monocyte –> macrophage
What are the 4 criteria that cells fit as they develop?
- Cell size – gets smaller
- Nuclear morphology
- Cytoplasm: changes from blue –> red
blue = RNA; red = protein - Specific granules
