Engagement
engage the client to build therapeutic relationship. Intake, confidentiality, consent, explaining role social worker, setting boundaries.
Assessment
What is the clients presenting problem? Collect information. Identify areas that will be worked on in treatment.
Planning
Planning for treatment. Setting goals and objectives. Create action plan.
Intervention
This is where the bulk of clinical work is done. This is when you are actively working with the client.
Evaluation
Looking at the clients progress. Is treatment working? This is an ongoing process.
Termination
The close or ending of the therapeutic relationship. Termination should be discussed early and clients should have time to prepare for the end of treatment.
