Describe how Drinking a cup of coffee can transfer heat into you.

The ha=eat of the coffee transfers to your hand and eventually the coffee and your hand will be the same temperature.

A
Conduction is the transfer of heat between solid objects that are in direct, physical contact with each other.

What is convection?
A
The movement caused with a fluid by the tendency of hotter And therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in the transfer of heat.

What is Radiation?
A
Radiation is energy that comes from a source and travels through space and may be able to penetrate various materials. The kind of radiation discussed in this document is called ionizing radiation because it can produce charged particles (ions) in the matter. Ionizing radiation is produced by unstable atoms.
