Q

What is an example of conduction. Explain

A

A metal spoon in a boiling pot and when you touch it the heat is transferring from the burner/stove top to the water to the metal spoon to your hand.(This only an example there are many more ways to show conduction

Q

What is an example of convection. With example

A

A lava lamp or a pot boiling (but in this case I will be describing the lava lamp) the light bulb the heat source is warming the oil particles which are more dense at the bottom the particles are warming up and moving faster and farther away from each other. The are becoming less dense and starting to rise slowly the particles are rising and becoming cooler once they reach the top of the lava lamp they cool off and slowly become more dense and get more dense as they go back to where they started (the heat source) and the cycle continues over and over again till you remove the heat source or in this case turn off the lightbulb

Q

What is an example of radiation. Explain.

A

The sun warming the earth. The sun is your heat source and it is warming the earth through space, because the two objects are not touching. Other examples include roasting a marshmallow, or getting warm by a heater.
