Heart Patterns (Excess Patterns) Flashcards
What are the clinical manifestations for HT-Fire Blazing?
Thirst, palpitations, mouth & tongue ulcers, mental restlessness, feeling agitated, feeling of heat, insomnia, dream-disturbed sleep, red face, dark urine or blood in urine, bitter taste (after bad night’s sleep)
What is the tongue presentation for HT-Fire Blazing?
Red, tip redder and swollen with red points, yellow coating. There may be a midline crack reaching to the tip.
What is the pulse for HT-Fire Blazing?
Full-Rapid-Overflowing, especially on the L front position
Could also be “Hasty” (rapid and stopping at irregular intervals)
What are the pathological precursors of HT-Fire Blazing?
LV Fire
(LV is the Mother of HT. The transmission from the LV is also due to the emotional origin of both these patterns. Anger, frustration and resentment may lead to LV Fire and as the HT houses the Mind which recognizes and feels such emotions, LV Fire is transmitted to the HT, leading to HT-Fire)
What are the pathological developments from HT-Fire Blazing?
SP Heat
ST Fire
HT-Yin deficiency
What is the treatment principal for HT-Fire Blazing?
Clear the HT, drain Fire, calm the Mind
What are the clinical manifestations of Phlegm-Fire Harassing the HT?
Bitter taste, palpitations, red face, a feeling of oppression in the chest, expectoration of phlegm, rattling sound in the throat, mental restlessness, insomnia, dream-disturbed sleep, agitation, incoherent speech, mental confusion, rash behavior, tendency to hit or scold people, uncontrolled laughter and crying, shouting, mumbling to oneself, mental depression and dullness, manic behavior
What is the tongue presentation of Phlegm Fire Harassing the HT?
