Q

Left lung anterior border

A

It runs downwards and medially to 4th chondro-sternal junction. It then runs laterally for 2.5cms along the border of the 4th costal cartilage. It then runs downwards and medially to cut the 6th costal cartilage, where it ends

Q

Left lung inferior border

A

From the 6th costal cartilage, it runs downwards and laterally to the 8th rib, in the mid-axillary line. It then runs left and slightly upwards to cut the 10th rib in line with the inferior angle of the scapula. It then continues medially to about 1.75cms lateral to the spinous process of T10. This border lies at a slightly lower level on the left side.
