A
it is an abnormal condition that occurs when the heart cannot pump blood normally
-may effect right/left or both sides the heart

A
right - pitting edema (stays)
left - dyspnea

symptoms to look out for with CHF
A
-weakness, feeling tired
-shortness of breath
-weight gain
-swelling of feet or ankles

A
-brain damage: confusion, beh changes
-kidney damage: impaired kidney function and lower urine output
-treatment options: meds, reduction of sodium, oxygen therapy
