Q

Formation of atheroma from atherosclerosis

A

LDL build up in the blood vessel which will cause an immune responce which will cause the fatty cells (foam cells) to get bigger and a fiberous cap may form to make it ridged until it bursts to form a thrombosis

Q

Explain how blood circulates in the pulmonary system

A

Right atrium will contract to increase pressure to push deoxygenated blood into the right ventricle. Once filled the AV valve will close fro the chordae tendineae when the right ventricle contracts. The increase in pressure I the right ventricle will push deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary semi lunar valve into the pulmonary artery, this leads to both lungs to be oxygenated then move into the pulmonary vein to the left atrium.
