Heart Flashcards
Fibrous covering, attaches to diaphragm to anchor heart
Pericardium
Ventricular contraction
systole
Ventricular contraction
Diastole
Abnormal heart sound associated with turbulent flow of blood
Heart murmur
Divides the ventricles and atria into R and L halves
Septum
Recipes deoxygenated blood from cranial and caudal vena cava
R Atrium
separates R atrium and Ventricles
Tricuspid valve
Pumps deoxygenated blood into pulmonary circulation
R Ventricle
R semiluner Valve, prevents blood from flowing back into RV when it is relaxing to fill again from RA
Pulmonic valve
Carries deoxygenated blood from RV to Lungs. Exits from the RV
Pulmonary arteries
delivers oxygenated blood from lungs to LA
Pulmonary veins
Receives oxygenated blood from pulmonary veins
L Atrium
Prevents back flow into LA during LV contractions
Bicuspid valve
Pumps oxygenated blood into systemic circulation via the aorta
L Ventricle
L semilunar valve, similar to pulmonic valve prevents back flow into LV during diastole
Aortic Valve
