technology that enables an electronic device to exchange data wirelessly over a computer network; wireless fidelity
Podcasts
multimedia files that are downloaded and played on a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone
Cloud Technology
Internet-based technology that stores programs and data on servers at remote locations instead of your computer
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
an online learning system that brings classroom materials to students via Internet
Malware
malicious software used to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computers
Computer Virus
malware designed to copy itself into other programs; may cause the affected computer to operate incorrectly or corrupt the other computer memory
Download
transmission of a file from one computer system to another; usually from a larger computer system to a smaller one
Hackers
people who break into computer systems to access data, steal personal information, and sometimes cause harm to a computer system
Firewall
software program or piece of hardware developed to prevent a hacker from accessing personal information on your computer or in the healthcare facility computer system
Computer on Wheels (COW)
a mobile computer used to access and enter patient information while moving around the healthcare facility; often rolled into a patients hospital room
