Health Status
an individual’s or a population’s overall health, taking into account various aspects such as life expectancy, amount of disability and levels of disease risk factors
Life expectancy
The number of years of life a person is expected to live/remaining to a person at a particular age if death rates do not change.
Mortality rate
The number of deaths caused by a particular disease, illness or other environmental factor measured per 100,000 people (adults)
Morbidity rate
Rate of ill health experienced by an individual or population.
Incidence
Rates of new cases of a certain disease or condition within a certain time period
Prevalence
The total amount of cases active within a population at any one point in time
Maternal Mortality Rate
Rates of death of mothers either during pregnancy or up to 6 weeks post birth. Measured per 100,000 live births
Infant Mortality Rate
Rate of death of children before their first birthday per 1000 live births
Under 5 Mortality Rate
Rate of death of children before their fifth birthday per 1000 live births
