Nurse practitioner
Provides expert consultancy services to patient and their carers.
General practitioner
A doctor who does not specialise in a specific branch of medicine.
Provides ongoing treatment and preventative care in the community for a variety of medical problems that may be experienced by individuals of all ages.
Consultant
A senior doctor, normally based in a hospital and provides specialist expert healthcare support in their area of expertise
Healthcare assistant
Play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring the well being of patient.
responsibilities-
taking a recording a patient’s temperature and pulse
assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
serving meals and assisting with feeding when necessary.
Occupational therapist
Work with people of all ages who are having difficulty in carrying out the practical routines of daily life. These problems may be the result of a disability, physical or psychological illness, an accident.
Responsibilities- washing and bathing, housework and cooking.
Advocate
An advocate is someone who speaks on behalf of another person or group to promote their rights, interests and well-being.
Social worker -roles and responsibilities
Role: to provide help and support for people of all ages through difficult times in their lives
Responsibilities: Ensure that vulnerable people protected from harm and able to have independent lives
They can either specialise in adults or services for children
Social worker adult services
This includes services for older people, adults with disabilities, people with mental health problems and people who have learning difficulties.
Support people living independently and those in residential care, they work closely with the service users families and carers
Social worker- children
The children and young people’s services provide support for children and their families and ensure children are safe from harm.
Play an important role in ensuring that children are protected from abuse, if children are at risk from harm, social worker must take measures to ensure that the children are removed and put in a safe place
