excess fluid and plasma proteins from the interstitial spaces and returns it to the bloodstream.

How does lymph fluid move?
A
it moves according to a pressure gradient (filtration). At the arterial end the hydrostatic pressure is caused by the pumping action of the heart and pushes somewhat more fluid out of the capillaries then the venules can absorb.
