Relating to the state of a person’s physical, social, mental and spiritual existence and is characterized by an equilibrium in which the individual feels happy, healthy, capable and engaged.
What is Emotional Health and Wellbeing?
The ability to recognize, understand and effectively manage and express emotions as well as the ability to display resilience.
What is Mental Health and Wellbeing?
Relates to the state of a persons mind or brain and relates to the ability to think and process information. Optimal mental health & wellbeing enables an individual to positively form opinions, make decisions and use logic.
What is Physical Health and Wellbeing?
Relates to the functioning of the body & its systems; it includes the physical capacity to perform daily activities or tasks.
What is Social Health and Wellbeing?
The ability to form meaningful & satisfying relationships with others and the ability to manage or adapt appropriately to different social situations.
What is Spiritual Health and Wellbeing?
Relates to ideas, beliefs, values, & ethics that arise in the minds & conscience of human beings. It includes the concepts of hope, peace, a guiding sense of meaning or value, & reflection on a persons place in the world. It can also relate to organized religion, a higher power & prayer, values, a sense of purpose in life, connecting or belonging.
