A

A

Under CDM 2015 every project (irrespective of the size/value of the project or whether it’s commercial or domestic project), which has two or more contractors must have principal designer and principle contractor.

A

The file must contain information about the current project that is likely to be needed to ensure health and safety during any subsequent work such as maintenance, cleaning, refurbishment or demolition.

A

The principal designer is a designer with control over the pre-construction phase with emphasis on the control over the H&S elements of the design.

A

Description of the project and works it entails.

Who has to notify HSE of the project and when ?

A

Client is responsible for notifying the project if the project is notifiable. It must be done before the construction works start. At the latest the day before the works commence on site.

Only the client can appoint both principal designer and principal contractor and must do so in writing but only on projects with two or more contractors.
