Risk = likelihood of hazard causing harm
Other hazardous materials that have been banned
Combustible cladding - 2018
Lead piping - 1969
What goes into risk assessments
Identify hazards
Identify risks
Evaluate how to control risks
Report
Review
What is an EWS1 and what does it show in the results
External Wall System form
A (1,2 or 3) - unlikely to have combustible materials
B (1,2) - combustible material clearly present
If notifiable asbestos work, how long before works must you inform HSE
14 days before
What buildings need EWS1 form?
Potentially all multi-dwelling buildings with resi components
Prev only for 18m+
Now potentially all - dependent on height, cladding type, any balconies, etc
