Every employer in the dental workplace has a duty of care to abide by the following requirements
1.Provide a working environment for employees that is safe without risks to health and adequate with regards to facilities and arrangements for their welfare at work
2.Maintain the place of work means of access and exit and in a safe condition provide and maintain safe equipment, appliances, and systems of work
3.Ensure all staff are trained in the safe handling and storage of any dangerous or potentially harmful items or substances
4.Provide instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure health and safety
5.Review the health and safety performance of all staff annually and be aware of an investigate any failures or concerns highlighted when they occur
6.Display the official health and safety law poster for all staff to refer to

When should a comprehensive health and safety policy be provided?
When practices have five or more employees
