This is a tool you can use to understand all the different parts of who we are. Identify is partially made up of psychologically who we might be, hardships we’ve been through, quite significant impacts on who we are

How does what happened in Bhopal show suffering?

A

Recognises that we sit in a wider system around the world of global, structural, and economical inequalities. When we can draw on this broader position within the globe this adds to our health and well being - allowing us to exercise our human rights. Shows it is the poor who suffer in the trade off between environmental issues and public health.

How do different degree of ability show suffering?

A

Not only do we have identity in our body but also more broadly in our communities, family and in the planet. Abledness is another topic which shows intersection of personal identity with our chances of a healthy life

How is disability related to medicine?

A

Disability has a very complicated relationship with medicine. Medicine can be helpful but also complicated as it can lead to contested diagnosis. In the past some medical technologies are hurtful and cruel to try cure disability e.g. King George II.
