(atheroma are the fatty depositis)
what is arteriosclerosis
the hardening of artery walls so there is limited vasodilation and vasoconstriction
what causes a heart attack
piece of atheroma breaks off in cornoary artery it causes a blood clot which results in a blockage
this blocks blood supply to the brain which triggers heart attack
what is a stroke
atheroma breaks off and blocks a capillary in the brain this can cause stroke death and brain injury
what is blood pressure
force of blood exerted onto the vessel walls
how does hypertension occur
atherosclerosis causes blood vessel to narrow causing increase blood pressure
