Important notes on operation

A

Directional Gyros are NOT north seeking
Align the DG‟s with the magnetic compass before flight
DG‟s are subject to “gyroscopic precession”
Cross-check and realign the gyros every 15 minutes with the magnetic compass
– Acceptable precession rate is 3 degrees every 15 minutes.
