- Myofascial: muscle overuse/injury
- Cervical facet: degeneration/arthritis, injury, overuse/poor posture
- TMJ: malocclusion, disc displacement/joint degeneration, myalgia
How do you apply the five models to tension HA tx?
- biomech: conservative, injections
- resp: none
- metab: NSAIDs
- neuro: SSRI, TCA (preventative)
- behav: smoking cessation
What type of HA causes a u/l throbbing, burning pain pattern?
migraine
What are the 4 phases of a migraine?
- Premonitory: fatigue, irritable, depressed, hard to do things
- Aura: visual disturb, numbness
- HA: throbbing unilat pain, photophobia
- Postdrome: fatigue, can’t concentrate
